Hon'ble the Chief Justice lays foundation stone of Judicial Complex at Malerkotla

Malerkotla (District-Sangrur), February 07, 2007

            Hon'ble Mr.Justice Vijender Jain, the Chief Justice today laid the foundation stone of new Judicial Court Complex at Malerkotla.  The proposed building would have six Court rooms and has a provision for Litigants' Shed and Chambers for Lawyers.  The total cost of construction of the Court Complex would be around Rs.4.88 crores and it would be completed within 1.5  years.

            Apart from Hon'ble the Chief Justice, Hon'ble Mr.Justice S.S.Nijjar; Hon'ble Mr.Justice Mehtab S.Gill; Hon'ble Mr.Justice M.M.Kumar; Hon'ble Mr.Justice T.P.S.Mann and Hon'ble Mr.Justice A.N.Jindal also graced the occasion.

            Hon'ble the Chief Justice was received at the venue by the Advocates, Judicial Officers and Senior Civil and Police Officers.  People present there showed rare excitement on the arrival of the Hon'ble the Chief Justice.  Hon'ble Chief Justice also planted a Triveni sapling at the site and thereafter laid the foundation stone. 

            The welcome address was read, by Hon'ble Mr.Justice T.P.S.Mann, who apprised the people about the efforts being made by Hon'ble the Chief Justice for the construction of new Judicial Court Complexes at various places.  Hon'ble the Chief Justice in his address asked the Advocates to co-operate with the Courts in the early disposal of cases.  He urged all concerned to devise new ways and means to tackle the problem of arrears of cases. The inspiring words of Hon'ble the Chief Justice made an indelible mark on the audience.

            Hon'ble the Chief Justice also informed that at the age of 18, he had written an article "Kuka Marty-dom".  He also paid obeisance at the Dargah of Haider Sheikh and also paid a visit to "Kuka Memorial" built in the memory of 66 Kuka Martyrs.
