PUNJAB AND HARYANA HIGH COURT, CHANDIGARH.

         Hon'ble Mr. Justice Vijender Jain, Chief Justice, today administered the oath to Ms. Sabina and Mr. Jora Singh as High Court Judges in the Chief Justice's Court (Court Room No.1).  All the Hon'ble Judges; former Judges; Advocate Generals of Punjab and Haryana; President High Court Bar Association; Senior Advocates; Civil Servants and other High Court Officers were present on the occasion.  Both the newly appointed Hon'ble Judges are from Punjab. Whereas Ms. Sabina was posted as District and Sessions Judge, Bathinda; Mr. Jora Singh was posted as District and Sessions Judge, Fatehgarh Sahib before elevation.  

With the present elevation, the strength of High Court Judges has increased to 43,  a figure which is all time high.  This is the first time that there will be three lady Judges on the Bench of the High Court.  Earlier, Mr. Ram Chand Gupta, Registrar General read out the notification of the Government of India and the warrants of appointment of Ms.Sabina and Mr. Jora Singh as High Court Judges.
